The surrounding 10km area of Taghazout & Tamraght have gained legendary status as a surf mecca and without doubt Morocco's surf capital. There are not many places in the world that have waves accessible to beginner, intermediate and advanced surfers but this area has it all.
Taghazout waves includes the beginner/intermediate surf spots Panaromas & Hash's Point. Further south is the long stretch of beach that leads to the next town of Tamraght, a fantastic learner area with two advanced breaks at the south end Devils Rock & Banana Point.
On the north end of town is Moroccos most famous wave, Anchor Point, a world class long right break. And around this headland is La Source & Killers, another two of Moroccos most reliable & famous waves.
10km further north is the town of Tamri which has a great selection of beginner & intermediate waves as well as a few secret spots.

How did you like the accommodation?
Wow, what a week! Lucie, Momo and the Surf Star team were great. The surfing was amazing. The instructors Barak, Hassan, Fadl and Momo provided some of the best instructing I've had yet, and with great instructor to student ratios they were able to really help you progress! I was standing on the first day, and by the end of the week they had let us loose on the green waves. They provide such a supportive and encouraging environment, cheering you on when you catch a wave and offering up invaluable tips to speed along learning. They also cater for different levels of surfers, making sure that those who wanted more of a challenge had a chance to go catch the bigger waves. The post surf, rooftop yoga with Lucie was great - such an ideal way to end a day out in the waves. It was my first introduction to Yoga, and I am hooked! In the classes Lucie really talks you through the poses and it was such a relaxing environment to learn in. The accommodation and food were both spot on too! I'm vegetarian and my friend who I visited with is lactose intolerant and our needs were catered to perfectly. I would 110% recommended it! Whether your a single traveller, travelling with friends or with your family - they welcome you with open arms! A very special place
I had again fun times in the sun and on the water with surfstar crew. This is place where you are well taken care of. Instructors Momo, Barak, Hassan and Zac are really focusing on you getting better.. so step by step this beginner is learning more and more every time. They can also arrange anykind of daytrips from other city visits to skateboard/longboading lessons. Highly recommed to stay here! Love these guys! For sure i will go back to my Moroccan family again! Inchallah! :)
After endless visits to Morocco, my times with Surf Star definitely stand out from the rest, and my recent holiday was no exception. Whether you're travelling solo or with a bunch of mates, the team go that extra mile to make your holiday unforgettable. Lucie and co. will help in any way they can, whether its booking day trips or making sure you get a veggie meal at dinner! The Surf Star crew always have plenty of tricks up their sleeves to keep us happy: visits to the souks, traditional tagine meals, hamam massages, surf films, yoga, and of course... surf! Everyone is so welcoming, and it doesn't take long before you feel part of the family - even the locals are always happy to see me back. The team here are very passionate about surf and yoga, aswell as the beautiful country of Morocco, and love sharing this passion with eveyone. My surfing has improved so much, all thanks to their patience and advice, and I’ve always left feeling healthy, energized and stoked… and have usually booked my next trip before the holiday is over!
Lol I feel still a bit battered and bruised! Loved my stay at the surf house, everyone was really nice and helpful. I felt that I could go to them at any time if there was anything I wondered about or needed. The surf lessons were great and I think I managed to achieve something in those few days. The instructors really tried to provide us with the best conditions to learn, even though that seemed to be a challenge some of the days. It was tried to plan a trip with the whole or some of the group to Paradise valley, but everyone was just keen on getting back into the water the next day. Me being one of them, I have to admit. This was for me really just a learning/ relaxing holiday. When I travel I tend to make it some sort of road trip experience and am then on the go 2-3 weeks at a time. Not sure when I will manage, but I think I will go back some time
In a word….. fantastic! Everyone was so welcoming. The team at Surf Star are amazing, friendly and attentive. The other guests were all great fun to share the experience with and to chat with over meals. For the surfing, we managed to get up on the board and ride a wave in on the very first morning - as did each of the beginners that we saw and met at Surf Star - we felt pretty thrilled about that as first timers. We booked the yoga for the ladies, which they thought was outstanding, my brother-in-law and I even joined in. Accommodation was comfortable and clean, for a party of 4 guests the layout we had with two bedrooms, shared bathroom and lounge worked really well. Finally, great food, loved the meals plenty to eat of what I would characterise as good home-cooking
I can't praise the guys and girls at Surf Star enough! This was my first surf trip abroad and from the moment i arrived i felt as if i was with a group of friends i had known for years. Lucie and her team go out of their way to make sure you get the best out of your stay and guide you to the best spots each day to match your and the groups abilities. The quality and selection of boards available was excellent and they will do their best to get you the type you want. The accommodation has everything you need after a long day in the water with plenty of areas to chill out in. The food was of a good quality and there was always plenty to help you refuel for the next days surfing
